Before I learned about Vipassana meditation, I was skeptic. In fact, the main reason I never meditated prior to learning about Vipassana was that I had always thought meditation was for monks and religious people who were not spiritual and I didn’t want to be like them.
However, once I discovered this method of meditation, I couldn’t believe how happy I was. The truth is, meditation actually has a negative effect on some people but not all. In fact, the vast majority of people who meditate are happier than they’ve ever been.
If you are one of those people, I’d like to share with you a very big difference you will experience once you start meditating. It’s one that just changes your life, and it’s something you will never forget.
This discovery changed my life. I was willing to put up with all the hard work it took to get there, but it also had a very positive effect on everyone around me. The fact is, no matter what the method you use for meditation, your mind will filter the information it receives in a very different way than if you had not meditated. The old saying, “You are what you think” is true.
This was something I wanted to share with you so you could see that the time you spend on meditation is very important for your overall personal growth. This is especially true for those of us who want to be happier.
The vast majority of us have strong opinions about happiness and feel happier when we are the ones telling others how happy we are. It’s like we don’t want anyone else to tell us how much happier we are. We think it’s better if no one outside of our inner circle knows how happy we are.
However, Vipassana allows you to let go of those negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. It helps you focus on your feelings, so when you think about happiness, you are actually experiencing it right now.
Beginning With Meditation: How Meditation Can Change Your Life
When you begin meditation, it’s best to start slow. You can take on one technique at a time until you get more comfortable with it. It is also a good idea to watch other people who practice Vipassana as they are also learning this method.
That way, you can learn their techniques and copy what they are doing without being judgmental. Of course, this is not something you should do when learning Vipassana. Instead, watch how they are trying to do the meditation and then copy their movements.
Don’t try to get all excited and use a lot of energy because you haven’t mastered it yet. On the other hand, don’t stop to admire how beautiful they are because you are jealous that they are getting all the attention.
Just take it all in and learn from them and that is a great example of how Vipassana helps us lead our lives. It’s a whole new world where you control your own destiny and feel happy without even thinking about it. That’s something we can all benefit from.
